Park Night and the Body

The Lemon Park Gang
------------------------------

After becoming a member of Cornerstone Church, the Lord began opening my eyes to his will and my shortfalls. I have been so blessed with the opportunity to help with Park Night. It's an evening of loving on families, by making ourselves available to watch their kids so they can go on a date, run errands or anything else they have time for;) We meet at a local park every Thursday evening for a couple fun filled, game playing hours! The time with the kids is so rewarding, as we build relationship, community, and support the church body.

I am becoming more aware of what it means to be a part of the body of Christ. What good is an ear if it can't hear? And what good is a foot that doesn't move. Each believer is a part of the Body of Christ. Without the work of every part of the body, the church will be leaning on a crutch. Less effective for the race we are running! The first church looked nothing like the American church, and for this we should be scared! I challenge you to read Acts 1 & 2. This is not an exact mold for every church, but what can be gathered from it is community. They gave God EVERYTHING. They took care of one another and stopped building their own kingdom, and began building God's Kingdom.

Are these faces not priceless?

Eating some pizza!

Playing games with the kids and coaches.
This is the most hilarious game! there are two teams that form a train by holding on the the person in front of you. The first person (the engine) of each train is trying to get to the toilet paper tail hanging from the last person (the caboose) on the other team. The result is people flying all over the place and some people loose their pants!

Photo 101

I swore I would never blog! And here I am, writing about stuff thinking people will want to read it. So I am making a promise to all who take the time to read anything I write. I promise to not make this a piggy bank of vanity, hoping people put money in it to make me rich in the praise and admiration of man in order to feel good about myself. I promise not to be the person who thinks people really care about what happened in line at Starbuck's. Who is THAT interesting anyway? I mean really...

Rather I hope this inspires you, challenges you, tugs at your heart strings, opens your eyes, brings us closer, speaks to your heart, shows you the world from a different point of view and more than anything, shows the beauty of God's creation.

My little blog is to share with you my photos or creative ventures I embark on. So come along with me!!

And so it begins...

Once upon a time, I bought a Canon rebel XSI. I have no idea what I am doing, so I enrolled in a photography class by Lukas VanDyke...Photo 101. We went over the capabilities of shooting in Manual mode, which I didn't even know I had=) He taught us how to shoot completely in Manual, and the creative range and freedom it gave me is huge!! We had a model come so we could practice. Here are some shots from this session.
I like this one...this is Lukas diving in and showing us different angles.

I love this one I think the most. The negative space, and the neutral tones with the pop of blue.
I just like this one. That's all=) I am hoping to get better!! So any setting, advice or comments are welcome. Photo 108 is to come.
